Steve's First Shop Photo (2011)

Here at Prince & Son's we have over 40 years of experience in the meat industry and have been trading on Horsell High Street since October 2011. We are a family run business who take pride in our products and our customer service.

Steve Prince entered the butchery trade in 1978, working at Dewhurst Butchers in Woking situated down Wolsey Walk which is now where Sainsburys is located in the Woking Shopping centre. At the age of 18 he left to join Harford Brothers Butchers, and was there for many years, working in their shops in Old Woking, Bisley and New Haw.

Following on from his spell with Harford Brothers, Steve joined the team at Robert and Edwards in Wimbledon, and stayed there until he saw an opportunity to open his own shop. Steve alongside his business partner at the time, purchased a Robert and Edwards shop in Midhurst and renamed it Michael Courtney Family Butchers, Michael for Steve's middle name, and Courtney for his business partners middle name.

Whilst always living local in Woking, Steve decided it was time to cut down on the commute to West Sussex, and began to look for a shop closer to his family home in Knaphill, and an opportunity arose to purchase Graham Turners Butchers in Horsell in 2011. Steve named the shop Prince and Son's as a dedication to his two boys, Lee and Sam.
